The Big Ultrasound and beyond in 2004

Mom and Dad were expecting their first baby. Mom could hardly wait for the big ultrasound when they would find out whether they were having boy or a girl. The day finally arrived, and Mom took a VHS tape with her to the doctor's office so that Dad could see the ultrasound later. The ultrasound technician got to work and....it was a baby with its knees on its chest and its feet determinedly over its groin. Fortunately for Mom, the knees on the chest meant that the tech couldn't get a good view of the heart, which meant that Mom got to come back in an hour after having a snack to try to get the baby to wriggle out of its previous position. The snack worked, and the baby turned out to be a girl. Next project: name the baby. Mom & Dad decided on Amanda, and Dad put her name on a tiny stocking for the Christmas before she was born.
