Amanda's First Trip to Nauvoo, 2006

It was a very hot afternoon in Chicago on July 17, 2006, when Amanda and her family were at the O'Hare airport for a couple of hours between planes. It was so hot that the AC system couldn't really keep up, hence the flushed look on 17 month old Amanda's face as she leans on Dad's knee.

On the evening of July 18, Amanda went with her family to see the Nauvoo pageant. Before the pageant, there were lots of activities set up for the kids, and as you can see Amanda found one of the craft tables.

Amanda also got to go to Carthage Jail with her family on July 20. Isn't she such a cute little person among all those big people? Note the recurring doggie leash back pack. Why? Just because we wanted to make sure she made it home with us. As we used it to keep her in our vicinity in an airport, we heard an obviously single and childless person commenting on her cell phone about how shocking it was that there was a family with their kid "on a leash like a dog." Mayhap she is wiser in the ways of parenting now. Also, be it known to the world that the backpack was Eddie Bauer. Is it not so that the Eddie Bauer label makes it OK no matter what? ;) All in all, quite the family trip for us, and one that definitely needs recording, since it is highly unlikely that Amanda will remember anything about it on her own. :)
