Little Miss Scholar

Amanda had her first day of kindergarten yesterday. And, after three full years of preschool, she went to school with lots of excitement and, as far as we can tell, zero anxiety. Today, however, she demonstrated interest in something a little beyond her preschool curriculum: Spanish. After spending the past month asking Grandmother how to say just about everything in Spanish, she has found a way to continue her studies even now that Grandmother has gone home: Spanish subtitles on movies. Mom found out about it when Amanda announced out of the blue that "no" is spelled the same in Spanish as in English. The random comment suddenly made sense when Mom noticed the subtitles on the TV screen. Hooray for multilingual options on DVDs. :)
